Hungry and Angry

Today during lunch break, I went to a restaurant near Meiji University called "Teppanyaki Dorakichi." I ordered chicken, horse sashimi, and mackerel, but no matter how long I waited, the food never arrived.  When I first ordered, they said, "It might take a little while; is that okay?" Thinking it might take about 20 minutes, I said, "Sure, that's fine."  But after 50 minutes had passed, I was still waiting. It felt like eternity. I was looking at other customer like a child in Africa. I had to go to my third-period class, so my friend ended up eating my meal. I ended up rushing to the class, eating a plain rice. Awesome!!!!! Later, I was shocked when my friend sent me a photo.  Despite the chicken costing 750 yen, as you can see in the photo below, the portion was ridiculously small. I remembered the play toy I had in my childfoods. Considering chicken is cheaper than beef or pork in Japan, I hadn't expected a huge bowl of chicken, but at least I ...

Amazing Experience at Yakiniku Restaurant

イメージ
Yesterday, the manager of my favorite yakiniku restaurant treated me lots of foods for free! I have the go-to yakiniku joint in Shimokitazawa that I've been to over 300 times. Yesterday, something incredible and happy happened there, and I just thought I want to share it with you! So, it was one of those evenings when a sudden craving for yakiniku hit me. Knowing that my favorite place had some new menu items, I decided to head over there solo at 8 PM. The manager at this place is always amazing, but yesterday he really outdid himself. I ordered all the new menu items, and he was so glad about that, and gave me free ice cream, kimchi, potato salad, yukhoe, drinks, rice, and even the appetizers. And moreover, he even grilled the meat for me! I was over the moon to have such a great time. Trying out all the new dishes was a blast, and I found out which one was the absolute best. I got so excited that I decided to come back with the GREAT members in a week. Thanks to that delicious ya...

A Comparison of Three Restaurants/Cafés in Meidaimae

  1.        With all the busy hustle and bustle around Meidaimae Station, you might think that quick service is all that matters. Well, it might, but there are plenty of great spots where you can get both speed and value. To find out which place offers the best food and drinks for the best price, we tested three popular chains: McDonald's, Starbucks, and Subway. 2.        The restaurants I chose are well-known and easily accessible. I set cost limit at 700 yen for one food item and one drink item, preferably in a set. My goal? To see which place gives us the most bang for my buck. 3.        I started with McDonald's, known for its affordability. They offer a variety of meal sets at reasonable prices. For my test, I chose a Big Mac (390 yen) and a Coca-Cola (150 yen), totaling 540 yen. 4.        The fact that this set was part of the regular menu and provided...
